Meridian Psychotherapy (EFT)

EFT is a therapy which targets the body’s energy system through the meridians or energy channels. It does this by the use of tapping certain points on these channels with the fingers (usually done by the client themselves), which has the effect of dissolving the blocked energy and relieving any feelings of stress. If anyone suffers emotional distress whilst thinking about anything ie. a phobia, this implies that there is a disturbance within that persons energy field. The process is as follows, Distressing Memory or Thought —– Disruption in body’s Energy system —– Negative Feeling or Emotion.

EFT doesn’t attempt to change the actual memory, but to change the way the client feels about it. Therefore the memory remains unchanged but the emotional charge connected to it is relieved. Part of the process involves eye movement and counting, which helps to stimulate both hemispheres of the brain to work in harmony with each other, and promotes a truly balanced body-mind, holistic system.

EFT can be used for the following symptoms
